PURPOSE:To form a stencil plate from character data, image data, and others stored in a recording medium and to enable the numbers of pages and volumes to be printed, by providing the following parts: a control part reading and outputting the printing data including characters, images, and printing information which are stored in a portable recording medium; an identifying part judging the numbers of pages and volumes in printing information from the output of the control part; a printing part; and a central control part controlling an action timing of the respective parts. CONSTITUTION:In a floppy disk 1 as a portable recording medium, printing data including data 1a for character, image, etc., and printing information 1b for the numbers of pages and volumes are stored by a host machine. The floppy disk 1 is inserted into the control part 20 of a stenil printing prees 2, and the information stored in the floppy disk is read, the numbers of pages and volumes for the character data and the image data are judged in an identifying part 21, the identified output is inputted into a printing part 22, and the required numbers of pages and volumes for the character data and the image data are printed. In this manner, in operation for an operator is simplified, and a printing is favorably finished without the dust or stain remaining on the surface of a printed document.
