In a slipping-on device for inner-valve bags for slipping onto a filling tube of a bag-filling machine, with a pivotable actuating arm (1), at the end of which a suction device for sucking up a bag bottom (11) of the inner valve bag is arranged, and with a control circuit for moving the actuating arm (1), reliability in the holding of the inner-valve bag by the suction device can be increased appreciably if the suction device is formed by a rectangular suction plate (8) which has suction orifices (15) and the width of which corresponds approximately to the width and the length of which to a substantial part of the length of the rectangular part of the bag bottom (11), and if the control circuit places the suction plate (8) onto the bag bottom (11) in such a way that a narrow side (12) of the suction plate (8) is approximately flush with the outer end of the inner valve. At the same time, the opening of the inner valve of a cross-bottom valve bag (10) can be carried out, without additional outlay in terms of apparatus, merely in that the control circuit raises the actuating arm (1) somewhat when the filling tube rests on the corner fold (13) projecting outwards from the outer end of the inner valve. <IMAGE>
