PURPOSE:To increase a detection speed and to improve detection sensitivity by forming conductors of porous films and packing oil vapor detecting elements into the gaps of the conductors. CONSTITUTION:An insulating layer 2 is provided atop a substrate 1 and the two oil vapor detecting elements 3, 4 are provided atop the insulating layer 2. The element 3 is used for detecting the oil vapor and the element 4 for compensating temp. The elements, 3, 4 are constituted of thin porous films 3a, 4a consisting of metals, etc., and urethane resins 3b, 4b which swell on increasing of the concn. of the oil vapor and restore the original state on decreasing of the concn. An overcoating film 5 having many pores is provided atop the elements 3, 4 and the front face of the element 4 is coated with a mask film 6. The oil vapor passes the pores of the film 5 when an oil feed nozzle is set into the oil feed port of a fuel tank at the time of an oil supply operation. Then, the resin 3b swells and the particles of the thin film 3a are relaxed, resulting in an increased contact resistance value of the thin film 3a. A detection signal is thereby outputted. A detection signal is outputted from the element 4 as well to compensate the temp. of the output signal from the element 3, by which the oil or the like is discriminated.
