The rim of a bicycle wheel, provided with spokes, is formed from a profile in which that wall which faces the wheel axle has, in a plane containing the wheel axle, a portion which is curved in an arcuate manner and the concavity of which faces the wheel axle. The opposite ends of each spoke which are connected to the hub or to the inner wall of the wheel rim are arranged on opposite sides of the central plane of the wheel.
