PURPOSE:To materialize dispensability of maintenance for a rotating electric machine, by separating dust in the air to the outside circumference of a revolving air duct with centrifugal force in increasing the speed of the introduced outside air and then revolving it, and by causing the clean air to flow into the machine from the inside circumference where the dust no longer stays there. CONSTITUTION:The air admitted from an air intake goes up through an ascending air duct 13. As the cross section of this ascending air duct 13 is made gradually smaller, the speed of the admitted air increases and gets to an upper revolving air duct 14. After that, the air revolves. At this time, centrifugal force acts on the admitting air (b) and dust in the air is pressed to the outside circumference of the revolving air duct 14. In the neighbourhood of a clean air intake 15 where the revolving ends, the contaminated air (d) on the outside circumference side containing the dust and the clean air (c) on the inside circumference side which removed the dust are separated. Only the clean air (c) thereby flows into the machine.
