The brake booster is in a housing in which slides a servo piston and into which a piston rod projects to transfer the braking force. In the servo piston is an operating chamber into which brake fluid is supplied by a pump from a reservoir through an inlet valve a further valve connects the operating chamber with a return pipe to the reservoir. The piston rod is set in a blind bore in the servo piston and also has a blind bore connected to the reservoir and in which a valve ram is set. The valve ram has a closing member which forms the valve with a valve seat formed in the blind bore. Outside the blind bore the valve ram is connected to a stopper element which is associated with a second valve seating to let the fluid out of the operating chamber.
