PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of a thin metallic sheet as a result of the heat treatment in the stage of heat treating the thin metallic sheet by laser light by irradiating the laser light under the same conditions to the part to be heat- treated of the sheet from both front and rear sides and further sandwiching the sheet after the heat treatment with a pair of rolls. CONSTITUTION:The laser light L from a laser device 1 is divided by a semitransparent mirror 2 to the 1st laser light L1 and the 2nd laser light L2 is the case of using the laser light in subjecting a thin metallic sheet 5 to a local heat treatment such as surface hardening or chilling. The light L1 is focused by a reflection mirror 3 and a condenser lens 4 to irradiate the required place of the sheet 5 to be treated from the front side. The light L2 is further focused by reflection mirrors 6, 7 and a condenser lens 8 having the same focal length as the focal length of the lens 4 to irradiate the required area of the sheet 5 from the rear side. A laser light absorbent is beforehand applied on the part to be irradiated. The sheet 5 subjected to the heat treatment by the irradiation of the laser light is sandwiched by a pair of water-cooled rolls 10, 10, whereby the deformation of the sheet 5 by the above-mentioned heat treatment is prevented. |
