<p>The grid is composed of straps which are interleaved to form a matrix of fuel-rod receiving cells each defined by strap sections which form the walls of the cell and of cells adjacent thereto, and which have resiliently yieldable fuel-rod engaging spring structures formed integral therewith. Each fuel-rod engaging spring structure (60) comprises two elongate leg members (62) which extend substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the associated fuel-rod receiving cell, are spaced laterally apart, and are integrally connected to the associated cell-wall defining strap section (52) only at their opposite ends, and a cross member (64) which extends diagonally, preferably at about 45 degrees, between the two leg members and has its opposite ends integrally connected thereto.</p> |
