RECOVERY OF TRITIUM |
摘要 |
PURPOSE:To enable recovery of trace amounts of tritium by mean of a relatively small-sized system utilizing water-hydrogen isotope exchange reaction to convert a tritium gas in air into tritium water vapor. CONSTITUTION:The air containing a trace amount of tritium is sent to heat exchanger 2 and heated up to some 60 deg.C. The air is introduced into the column 3 for water-hydrogen isotope exchange reaction where tritium water vapor and tritium water are formed. The treated air is pressurized in compressor 4 and the condensed water is recovered as waste water. The compressed air is heat-exchanged in exchanger 2 to cool down. Further, the air is cooled down to about 1-5 deg.C with condenser 5. The condensed water containing tritium water is recovered as a waste water. The air dehumidified with the condenser 5 is decompressed with valve 6 down to normal pressure.
