<p>PURPOSE:To print an image throughout a form in a short time by relatively moving a narrow endless belt-shaped latent image carrier in the axial direction of a long transfer drum to continuously transfer the toner image on the latent image carrier onto the transfer drum. CONSTITUTION:An endless OPC belt 23 is provided as a latent image carrier 21 and is stretched around a guide mechanism 28 consisting of plural guide pins. The width of the latent image carrier 21 is made considerably narrower than the length in the axial direction of a transfer drum 20, and the latent image carrier 21 is moved in the axial direction of the transfer drum 20 by the guide mechanism 28. Then, a toner image is formed on the OPC belt 23 by a charger 24, an LED head 25, a developing device 26, etc. When the toner image is transferred to the transfer drum 20, the latent image carrier 21 is moved in the axial direction of the transfer drum 20 by an extent corresponding to the width of the OPC belt 23 during one rotation of the transfer drum 20 and is continuously moved throughout the position of the transfer drum 20 corresponding to the size of a form 8. Consequently, the image is quickly printed because of continuously transfer.</p> |
