PURPOSE:To prevent curling by transferring a movable dye of a heat developable photosensitive material to a dye fixing material, then stripping the dye fixing material and drying the dye fixing material while holding both ends of the stripped dye fixing material. CONSTITUTION:The heat developable photosensitive material 3 is sent from a magazine 4 to an exposing part 6. The exposed photosensitive material 3 is sent via a water coating section 8 to a development transfer section 7. The dye fixing material 11 is sent by conveying rollers to the development transfer section 7 and is superposed on the photosensitive material 3. The material is heated and subjected to a development transfer in said development transfer section 7. The material is then sent to a stripping part 8 where the photosensitive material 3 and the dye fixing material 11 are stripped and the photosensitive material 3 is discarded into a waste box 30. On the other hand, the dye fixing material 11 is sent to a drying section 10 where the absorbed moisture is thermally dried while both ends of the dye fixing material 11 are held to dry the material until the moisture content decreases to an equi. moisture content.
