PURPOSE:To obtain a thin, rigid, and lightweight spectacle frame by providing an open loop type lens holding frame and a couple of brow endpieces molded integrally with its open end parts, and forming the lens holding frame so that the sectional area of the narrowest part is 1.5-8mm<2>. CONSTITUTION:The open loop type lens holding frame 2 is used and the couple of brow endpieces 3a and 3b are molded integrally with its open end parts; and the holding frame 2 is so formed that the sectional area of the narrowest part is 1.5-8mm<2>. Further, a screw 4 is engaged threadably with screw holes formed penetrating the brow endpieces 3a and 3b, which are brought into contact with each other to put the holding frame 2 in a closed loop and also clamp the periphery of a lens, thereby preventing the lens from falling from the holding frame 2. Further, the brow endpieces 3a and 3b have the screw holes penetrating the brow endpieces 3a and 3b; and a metallic tube member where the screw 4 is run is inserted into the brow endpiece 3b and a female screw tube member for receiving the screw 4 is inserted into the brow endpiece 3a. Those tube members are insert-molded. Thus, the thin, rigid spectacle frame is obtained.
