PURPOSE:To attain quick changeover by setting a loopback path through which a signal sent from a standby signal terminal equipment is returned as it is to the standby signal terminal equipment by a time switch and allowing a test equipment in an exchange to send a No.7 signal to the standby signal terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:An exchange main body processor 14 controls a time switch 10 via a control line 100 to form a turn back path 102. When the exchange main body processor 14 gives a test command to the signal terminal test equipment 13, the equipment 13 gives an activation request to the terminal equipment 12 and sends a proper No.7 level 4 signal to the equipment 12 after confirming its activation. Then the turn back path 102 is used and itself is regarded to be an opposite station signal terminal equipment, the normal procedure of alignment is applied, and after the end of alignment, the No.7 level 4 signal having a transmission request from the signal terminal equipment is sent in a form of regarding itself as the opposite station signal terminal through the loopback path 102 and the reception signal is informed to the signal terminal test equipment 13.
