PURPOSE:To eliminate damage of a phosphor and provide an allowance to the accuracy in the positions of legs by forming plural members having thicknesses smaller than that of the phosphor on the inner surface of a face plate, bringing legs for preventing a vessel in contact with the members from pressure and making the contact part of the legs to the members broaden. CONSTITUTION:Legs 3 are brought in contact with a fluorescent screen on the inner surface of a face plate 1 at a part thereof for preventing the breakage of a vessel due to pressure. On the part of the face plate 1 in contact with the legs 3, plural ties 6 are provided at the positions of black stripes 4. The tip of the legs 3 are made to cross plural ties 6. Therefore, the vessel has a pressure proof structure so that even if the positions are deviated from the center of the ties 6, the legs 3 are only moved on the ties 6 so as to be prevented from the damage of a phosphor 2, and thereby it is possible to improve the picture quality and provide an allowance to the accuracy in the positions of the legs 3.
