PURPOSE:To compress an information digit, to send a control digit and to save a transmitting time and a memory capacity by being equipped with a mixer to output an expanded digit from the same line, a P/S converter, an output breaker, a probability forecasting device, a generator, the same selector and an arithmetic encoder. CONSTITUTION:An information digit and a control digit are respectively inputted to terminals 101 and 102, the bit of the different value is added with a mixer 103 and an expanded digit is outputted from the same line. By a P/S converter 108, a bit string is obtained, encoded by an arithmetic encoder 109 and outputted in the sequence from a terminal 110. A breaker 104 identifies by the bit value added to the expanded digit and only when the expanded digit corresponds to the information digit, the information digit is supplied to a forecasting device 105. The forecasting device 105 calculates the appearance probability value of the bit of the information digit and supplies it to a selector 107 together with the output of a fixed probability generator 106. The selector 107, when the arithmetic encoder 109 encodes the bit corresponding to the information digit out of the expanded digit, selects the output of the forecasting device 105 and in other case, selects the output of the fixed probability generator 106. By the constitution, a transmitting time and a memory capacity can be saved. |
