The main patent application describes, in examples according to the invention, a process for catalytic refining in three catalytic beds in series, the first two beds through which the feedstock passes being stationary and based on a catalyst containing platinum and rhenium, the last bed through which the feedstock passes being mobile and based on a catalyst containing platinum and at least one metal chosen from tin, iridium and indium, the invention being characterised in that the operation in all the beds is carried out at a pressure lower than or equal to 14 bars, the H2/HC ratio in the stationary beds being lower than the H2/HC ratio in the last (movable) bed. In the present addition it has been discovered that it is advantageous to employ a first stationary bed of axial type and a second stationary bed of radial type.
