PURPOSE:To increase the strength of the ground by a method in which surface soil is removed, a reinforcing material is laid, and soil is newly placed on them to form an improved ground. CONSTITUTION:The surface soil 7 of the ground where a foundation is to be constructed is removed, and a latticed and meshed reinforcing material 9 is laid on the base ground 8. Good-quality soil 10 is then placed in an adequate thickness on the material 9. The soil 10 and a solidifying agent 11 are mixed together with stirring and tamped to form a foundation ground 14. The foundation ground 14 improved in compressive strength, shear strength, and tensile strength can thus be obtained.
