PURPOSE:To make it possible to make an output laser beam into a desired one and to make possible a high-precision, high-grade and high-speed laser processing by a method wherein the pulse frequency and duty of a laser are numerically set according to each processing process and a prescribed laser beam is outputted on the basis of the set numerical values. CONSTITUTION:A laser oscillator 1 outputs a continuous or prescribed pulsed laser beam by superposing a pulse wave P inputted through a pulse generator 9 on a simmer current. The generator 9 outputs a frequency (f) inputted through an NC unit 11 and a pulse signal P of a duty D on the basis of said frequency (f) and a numerical value of the duty D, which is inputted through the unit 11. The unit 11 is one which numerically sets 4-digit and 3 digit frequencies and the duty using reverse functional codes marked on an NC tape, such as a B code to instruct a Y-axis gyration and a T code to support the exchange of a tool. As the frequency (f) and the duty D respectively can be set arbitrarily in 4 digits and 3 digits, the optimum laser beam can be outputted according to each processing process and a high-precision and high-grade processing can be executed at high-speed. |
