A fastening assembly for an adjustable front plate (1), eg of a drawer, comprises two side parts (5) having fastening flanges (9) aligned vertically to the front plate (1) and a holding flanges (10) (which may be punched out of the fastening flanges (9)) aligned parallel to the front plate (1). Holding parts (2) are fastened to the front plate (1) by means of screws (3). The holding parts (2) have spreadable clamps (7) comprising prongs (8) engageable in openings within the holding flanges (10). The prongs (8) of the clamps (7) are spreadable by means of rotatable camming means (4). The openings within the holding flanges (10) are configured so as to permit lateral adjustment of the front plate (1) relative to the side parts (5).
