DEVICE FOR EXTRACTING BASIC FORM FEATURE OF PICTURE

PURPOSE:To extract the basic form features of pictures at high speed by comparing optically an optical pattern image with a basic form pattern. CONSTITUTION:A multiplexing means 4 multiplexing optically the picture from which the basic form features are extracted and forms substantially plural optical images of the same form. The plural types of basic form patterns are produced by a basic form mask 6a from the basic forms contained in common into plural pictures from which the basic form features are extracted and at the same time plural optical pattern images are supplied to the mask 6a in response to plural types of basic form patterns respectively. Thus plural optical pattern images obtained by multiplexing the picture from which the form features are extracted and having substantially one and the same form are optically compared individually and simultaneously with plural types of basic from patterns consisting of the basic forms included in common in plural pictures. Then these results of comparison are detected.
