PURPOSE:To improve the stabilization of the welding by providing an inverter circuit to a DC power source and arranging a constant voltage circuit to diodes for charging and connecting the inverter circuit in parallel to a series circuit of the diodes and the constant voltage circuit. CONSTITUTION:The full bridge type inverter circuit 4 is connected to the DC power source 1 via a reactor 5. Each power transistor of the circuit 4 changes over the polarity of the DC power source 1 by its on and off to supply the AC voltage between a consumable electrode 2 and base metal 3. Next, the constant voltage circuit 7 consisting of a capacitor Co for charging, a connected in series to the diodes D10 and D30 for charging and further, connected in parallel to the inverter circuit 4. By this method, the polarity from the power source 1 is changed over stably and the stabilization of the AC arc welding is improved.
