PURPOSE:To rapidly detect what are of an objective body laser slit beam impinges against with good accuracy, by converting laser beam to slitlike beam to unidimensionally calculate center-of-gravity coordinates. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam 2 emitted from a laser oscillator 1 passes through a condensing lens 3 to enter a scanner 4 and is converted to slit beam 5 to irradiate an objective body 6. This objective body 6 is photographed by a video camera 7 and the analogue image signal outputted from the video camera 7 is converted to a digital image signal by an A/D converter 8. The data necessary for the calculation of the center of gravity in a center-of-gravity coordinates operation circuit 11 is stored in a memory. A CPU 12 receives a laser slit beam take-in finish signal to read data and calculates center-of- gravity coordinates before calculates the three-dimensional coordinates of the objective body 6.
