PURPOSE:To use the titled device for plural kinds of machines in common and to improve diversity with a simple structure by setting up a holder for holding a cylinder lens and a photodetector on a position in a laser beam upstream/downstream scanning direction. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical lens 93 and the photodetector 91 are stored in a supporting barrel 94 formed on the holder 92. Long holes 96 for fitting screws 95 are formed on the substrate of the holder 92 and the holder 92 is fixed on an optical housing 99 with the screws 95. Sliding position setting marks 97, 98 are formed on the upper edge parts of the holder 92 and the housing 99. At the time of using the device, for a machine having different timing from the detection of synchronization up to the start of writing, the holder 92 is slid to the laser beam upstream-downstream scanning direction side, positioned by the setting marks 97, 98 at the same timing of a control system and then fixed on screw holes 99a with screws 95. Consequently, the diversity of the device can be improved by the simple structure.
