PURPOSE:To eliminate a fear of pilferage occurring and to enable mounting of a device to various kinds of automatic vehicles, by a method wherein, once an engine is motioned, and when, through detection of the position of a selector lever, it is brought into a position allowing an automobile to run, an engine is stopped. CONSTITUTION:A selector position detecting circuit 25 is adapted to provide a different output signal between a position to allow running of an automobile and other position. A delay circuit 32 to input an output of a generator generated by an engine motion is provided, and an AND circuit 22 to input outputs from the delay circuit 32 and the position detecting circuit is provided. When it is in a state to provide an output from the delay circuit 32 and an output from the position detecting circuit 25 is an output for a position allowing an automobile to run, through output from the AND circuit, the feed of a voltage to an ignition 12 is cut off. Thereby, there is no fear of pilferage occurring, and even when a driver touches a selector lever carelessly, an automobile is prevented from running, and a title device can be mounted to a various kinds of automatic automobiles.
