PURPOSE:To improve general usage and to reduce the cost, by providing a stator with magnetic poles in a multiple number of three and equalizing the gaps between respective magnetic poles. CONSTITUTION:A stator 45 of a linear motor comprises two stators 45A arranged in a row, where one stator comprises three magnetic poles each of which is provided with three stator teeth 46. Each magnetic pole is wound with a coil 50, thus providing three coils 50 in total. When the pitch of each magnetic pole is l, the distance between a magnetic pole at the end portion and the end portion of the stator 45A is set to l/2. The stator 45A is jointed through a spigot joint then mounted on a fixing seat 55 thus assembling a motor. Since a plurality of unit type linear motors can be arranged in series, the unit type linear motor can be manufactured at a low cost.
