PURPOSE:To enable terminal machines to share and simultaneously access data by providing a control means which sets monopolization of the access right if it is not set to a memory but informs the terminal machine that access is impossible if it is set there. CONSTITUTION:If monopolization of a certain system is requested from a station (out of stations 1-4), a CPU 11 checks a corresponding RAM 13 to check whether the designated system is already monopolized or not. If it is already monopolized, the CPU 11 informs the request source station that access is impossible; but otherwise, the CPU 11 sets a monopolization bit (flag) to a station management area in a monopolization management memory of the RAM 13 corresponding to the designated system. Then, the CPU 11 waits for the read command from the monopolization request source station. When the read command comes in this state, a hard disk device 6 is controlled by a hard disk controller 20 and data is read from a disk and is transmitted to the monopolization request source station.
