PURPOSE:To handle information different in kind of format in the same equipment by transferring the kind of information in transferring information between a main control section and a designated line controller, and allowing the line controller to apply format conversion of the transferred information according to the kind of information. CONSTITUTION:In case of packet information, sets of packet information A, B...formed by the control of a central controller 1 are stored in the order of A, B...in the ascending order of a main memory 2, and in case of non-packet information, the information formed by the control of the central controller 1 is stored in the order of a, b...from the oldest number of the memory 2. In transferring the information with different format to a local memory 6 of a line controller 8, the information including a head address of the main memory, the number of bytes and the type or the like is sent. A format conversion circuit 5 applies the conversion processing, stores the information into the memory 6 in the same format and the result is sent from a prescribed line adaptor 7 to a line. By the above constitution, the information different in kind of format is processed by the installation of the format conversion circuit and the transfer of the kind of information only.
