PURPOSE:To stabilize the performance of a thermal type gas compressor by supplying low and high temperature working mediums alternately by means of a heat pump to pipe lines which makes thermal contact with material for adsorbing and desorbing gas through cooling and heating operations. CONSTITUTION:Materials 24-27 are accommodated in casings 20-23 for adsorbing and desorbing gas when cooled and heated respectively. The materials 24-27 are heated when a high temperature working medium passes through pipe lines 28-31, while cooled when a low temperature working medium passes. Distributing valves 52-59 change the working fluids alternately. As a result, a compressor can be actuated regardless of the condition of weather so that the compressibility is kept constant.
