PURPOSE:To provide a welding rod of superior cracking resistance of weld metal by coating a covering material contg. Ti oxide, carbonates and fluorides of metals, and Cr, Mo, Mn at specific ratios on the surface of a core contg. specific amts. of Ni and O. CONSTITUTION:The covering material contg. 10-40% Ti oxide based on the total weight of the covering material, 5-25% carbonate of metals, for example, limestone, 3-15% fluoride of metals, for example, cryolite, and contg. 16-25% Cr, 6-12% Mo, <=10% Mn in terms of the weight ratios to the core and if necessary, contg. 1 or 2 kinds of 0.8-5% Nb and <=5% W, and controllled of total moisture content to <=0.3% is coated on the surface of a core contg. >=98% Ni and controlled of the content of oxygen to <=0.008%. The cracking resistance and blowhole resistance of weld metal by high electric current are improved by the use of the welding rod regulated in such a way. |
