PURPOSE:To improve the reproducibility of a translucent sheet and to easily obtain a positive copy from a negative film by carrying out exposure from the back of an ordinary copying machine to form a latent image, and transferring the image visualized by a white toner to a colored paper. CONSTITUTION:In the copying by a negative film, a white toner is used for a developing device 40, and a colored paper is used for a transfer paper. The negative film is firstly placed on an original platen 35, the film is covered with an exposure surface of the surface exposure light source 80 housing plural halogen lamps, and the lamps are lit. Exposure is then successively carried out over a photosensitive body 10 by an exposure device 30 to form an electrostatic image. The image obtained by visualizing the latent image by a white toner is transferred to a black colored paper, and a copy with a white picture image part on a black ground can be obtained. Since exposure is carried out from the back of the original 37 in the vertical direction, a clear picture image is obtained, and a positive copy can be easily obtained from a negative film.
