PURPOSE:To obtain an alloy ingot having the desired characteristics and free from component segregation, by mixing and crushing plural kinds of pure metals (alloys), supplying the resulting crushed matter into a water-cooled metal mold, and then applying continuous melting and solidification by means of a high energy density-type heat source. CONSTITUTION:Two or more kinds of pure metals (alloys) in which the length of at least one edge is regulated to <=2mm are mixed and crushed, so that mutual pure metals, mutual alloys, or a pure metal and an alloy are formed into a mechanically bound state with each other. Subsequently, the resulting crushed matter is supplied as a raw material for melting into a water-cooled metal mold, melted by means of a melting method using a high energy density- type heat source, such as electron beam, plasma arc, and W arc, solidified, and further drawn continuously so as to be formed into an alloy ingot. Moreover, it is desirable that the pure metals to be used as raw materials before crushing are Ni and Ti and the alloy to be refined is an NiTi alloy, and further, the alloy to be a raw material before crushing consists of one or more kinds of Ni-Ti alloys and the alloy to be refined is an NiTi alloy.
