PURPOSE:To restore a desired version with a relevant file used as a base by designating a file identifier and its corresponding 2nd version number via a user. CONSTITUTION:The registration of a new version designated by a user produces the differential information between the contents of a latest version file 6 and a version to be registered as long as the file 6 is not empty. This produced differential information is added to a differential file 7. Thus the differential information is equal to an addition and deletion instructions produced for each line based on the conventional algorithm and then written into the file 7 with addition of the contents of the line to be deleted. A version restoration means 4 receives a version restoring instruction from an input means 1 and delivers the contents of the restored version via an output means 5. The instruction given from a user includes a file identifier that can be used as a base in a restoration state as well as a 2nd version number corresponding to said identifier in the form of options.
