PURPOSE:To save a text buffer area by outputting only a changed text to a text buffer with no output of all texts of an input text file. CONSTITUTION:When a text changing instruction is received from a user, an editor control means 1 starts a text editing means 2 and stores a changed text and its relative position in an input text file 4 into a changed text buffer 6 via a text control means 5. When an output instruction is received, the means 1 starts a text output means 7 and unchanged texts are inputted to an output text file 8. At the same time, the changed text is inputted to the file 8 from the buffer 6. The text of the file 4 is decided in accordance with its relative position; while the text of the buffer 6 is decided in response to the relative position stored in the buffer 6. Then both texts are merged with each other and then outputted to an output text file 8.
