A device (1) is described for the measurement of the level of a non-conducting liquid in the interior of a tank, the device having a movable electrical contact (2) which is connected to a first pole of a supply voltage and is held by a float (3), which can carry out a vertical movement with respect to a guide element (4) extending longitudinally as a result of the hydrostatic pressure which is exerted in operation by the abovementioned liquid, as well as a fixed electrical contact (5) which is anchored at the lower end of the said guide element (4) and can produce an electrical contact with the moving electrical contact each time that the float (3) comes to be in the lower part (6) of the end of the guide element (4). The device (1) is equipped with a discriminator circuit (20) for the presence or absence of an electrical contact between the moving and the stationary contact (2; 7); this circuit (20) has an input (21) on which there is a voltage (V-) of which the value approaches that of the first pole, and which input is connected with the stationary electrical contact (5). <IMAGE>
