It is known to stabilise plastic heels 2 by means of steel support sleeves. Such support sleeves have previously been cylindrical internally and externally. The support sleeves also serve for driving in heel-piece pins 4, with the aid of which covering heel pieces 5 made of leather or plastic are fixed on the free end of the heel 2. To increase the stability of the heel 2 at every height, the support sleeve 3 is now designed conically externally and cylindrically internally. In this manner, the cross-section of the support sleeve 3 can to a great extent be adapted to the cross-section of the heel 2 at every height. <IMAGE>
