摘要 PURPOSE:To make a heat transfer area larger and improve heat transfer performance,by a method wherein a porous metallic layer is formed on the surface of a metallic base and a great many of bottomed cylindrical-shaped recesses whose openings are relatively narrowed are formed on said porous metallic layer. CONSTITUTION:A porous plated layer 2 has a great many of bottomed cylindrical-shaped recesses 3 whose openings are relatively narrowed, and moreover, the recesses themselves are made into a porous structure to which granular electrodeposited metal is accumulated. the ratio of the surface area of the recesses 3 is set to 10-50%. When this ratio is smaller than 10%, improvement in heat transfer performance is less effective and, when it is larger than 50%, the manufacture of the titled body becomes difficult and, on top of that, the heat transfer performance is not improved to such an extent that the manufacturing cost increases. As for a heat transfer pipe thus constituting, the plated layer 2 itself formed on a pipe body 1 has the porous structure with the accumulation of granular electrodeposited metal and, furthermore, many recesses 3 are formed on said plated layer 2, so that the heat transfer area on the surface of the plated layer 2 is remarkably large.
