Protective canopy for shielding a person against wind, cold or rain, comprises a bag made of a pref. flame-resistant plastic film which is rectangular when folded flat, has a length greater than that of the person using it, ideally ca. 2 m, and is provided with front and rear sections (12, 14) connected to each other along the side edges and at the upper end of the bag. The lower end of the bag is open and has an adjustable opening (26) for the user's head. The upper end sections of the side edges have adjustable side openings for the hands or head. The canopy is characterised by the following: (i) the bag is ca. 1.5 times that of half the bag length, pref. 1.5 m; (ii) the side edges are permanently secured to each other; and (iii) all openings have draw cords for size adjustment. The canopy can be pulled over immediately and its relatively large vol. enables it to be used to allow one or two people to sit on a load or the like and use a heating device such as a spirit stove. |
