PURPOSE:To obtain a precursor with which stability and activity are compatible by forming a silver halide emulsion layer on a base and incorporating a specific compd. therein. CONSTITUTION:At least one silver halide emulsion layer is formed on the base and at least one kind of the compd. expressed by formula I is incorporated into said layer. In formula I, PWR denotes a group which releases (Time)t-PUG when reduced; Time denotes a group which releases PUG via the reaction that follows after release as -(Time)t-PUG from PWR; PUG denotes a photographically useful group; (t) denotes 0 or 1 integer. The compd. is thereby stably built into the emulsion layer and the inexpensive precursor having the high activity at the time of a developing process is obtd.
