PURPOSE:To improve the function by using a personal computer to a control section and displaying a pattern of the personal computer and a picture data stored on an optical disk onto a high definition CRT synthetically. CONSTITUTION:A video signal 21 of a personal computer pattern is digitized and written in a personal computer video memory 36. Simultaneously, a display start address is set to an address control circuit 39. The data read from the personal computer video memory 36 is subjected to proper processing and the result is inputted to an arithmetic circuit 26. On the other hand, the picture data stored in the optical disk 12 is inputted to a picture bit map memory 25 via an image bus 5. An address control circuit 43, while controlling the address according to the display start address and the presence of the interlace control, accesses the picture memory 42 to read the content and the result is synthesized with the pattern data of the personal computer in the arithmetic circuit 26 and the result is inputted to a high definition CRT 8.
