PURPOSE:To facilitate dismantling of bracket when it is subjected to impact by placing a capsule comprising a metallic slider and a resin slider overlapped each other between the bracket secured to a steering jacket and the body. CONSTITUTION:A trapezoidal notch 8 enlarging in the direction of a steering wheel is formed in the flange section 7 of a bracket 3, and small notches 15 are formed at the opposite side thereof. A capsule 10 is separated into a metallic slider 16 and a resin slider 17, and adapted such that the projection 18 of the metallic slider 16 fits in a hole 20 made through the resin slider 17. Upon collision, the bracket 3 is pushed forward to slide the metallic slider and the resin slider thus separating them from the body.
