NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (X is anion functional group). USE:A synthetic intermediate for a bisazo compound useful as an organic photoconductor. Useful as an intermediate for bisazo compound which is an organic photoconductor used in an electrophotographic photosensitive material, especially lamination type photosensitive material exhibiting high sensitivity even as for high speed copying machine or laser printer. PREPARATION:A novel 1,10-bis(4-aminophenyl)-1,3,5,7,9-decapentaene expressed by formula II is dispersed in an inorganic acid such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid and then sodium nitrite is added to the dispersion at -10-20 deg.C to provide the compound expressed by formula I. The compound expressed by formula II is obtained by reducing 1,10-bis(4-nitrophenyl)-1,3,5,7,9-decapentaene using iron-hydrochloric acid, tin (II) chloride-hydrochloric acid, etc. |
