PURPOSE:To facilitate the loading/unloading of a cartridge to enable a copying color to be easily changed, by a method wherein, a roller is so provided as to be capable of opening/closing from a heating element part, and an ink sheet supply shaft and a take-up shaft are made detachable from upwards when the roller is open. CONSTITUTION:A heating element end face 51 of a thermal head 50 is so designed as to be pressed from upwards by a transfer roller 59 held by a roller frame 58 which is capable of opening/closing rotatably about a fulcrum 57. An ink sheet cartridge 71 consisting of a casing 70, a supply shaft 53, a take-up shaft 54, a weight shaft 56, and a thermosensible ink sheet 55 is used by being loaded to a part of the thermal head 50 from upwards in the use of a copying machine. In the casing 70, an opening 72 capable of inserting the thermal head 50 is provided on the bottom face thereof and an opening 73 slightly projecting the upper face of the heating element end face 51 of the thermal head 50 is formed on the upper face thereof. The color of the thermosensible ink sheet 55 is not limited to a black, but various thermosensible ink sheets can be used. The thermosensible ink sheet 55 is replaced by being unloaded together with the ink sheet cartridge 71 after the roller frame 58 is opened upwards.
