PURPOSE:To save a space by arranging and housing a unit of a hydraulic pump, an electric motor for the drive thereof and the like vertically in an oil tank. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic pump 13 having a strainer 15 is fixed above a hydraulic fluid in a vertically long oil tank 11, and an electric motor M for driving the hydraulic pump 13 is also fixed via the bracket 18 of the oil tank 11. The hydraulic pump 13 is mounted to the oil tank 11 via a bracket 16. Consequently, the vertically long arrangement of a hydraulic unit requires a less floor space than conventional horizontally long arrangement, thereby enabling the effective use of a space and the application of compact sizes to the hydraulic unit.
