PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of sealing properties caused by permeation of foreign matters between a gasket and a metal case, by applying a constitution in which welding is performed while sucking activated carbon powder dust at the time of welding electrodes to the metal case. CONSTITUTION:At the time of spot welding, a polarizing electrode 2 is covered with a suction cylinder 5 for activated carbon powder dust, the pressure of the inside thereof is reduced, the air is sucked from a lower hole 5a, activated carbon ground powder is sucked and eliminated by the effect of the air flow, and the activated carbon powder is prevented from attaching to an auxiliary agent for sealing. For example, on the surface of a polarization electrode made of a phenol system activated carbon fibre cloth (thickness 0.5 mm, specific surface area 2000 m<2>/gr), a conductive electrode 3' or 250mum thick aluminum layer is formed by a plasma flame spraying method. After the electrode bodies are welded to metal cases 4, 6, they are impregnated with an electrolyte in which tetraethyl ammonium tetraethyl fluoroborate 10 wt% is added to propylene carbonate, and are overlapped by interposing a separator 8 between them. The peripheral part of an aperture of both metal cases 4, 6 is sealed via a gasket 7. |
