<p>PURPOSE:To attain low cost, low consuming power and compactness by dividing a video screen into plural areas, predicting and coding with a constant line interval to an adjacent area in the respective areas, storing a predicted error predicted in the respective areas in a memory and reading. CONSTITUTION:At the time of dividing the video screen into the three areas A-C vertical to a scanning line direction, a predictive coder 10A processes the area A, a predictive coder 10B processes the area B and a productive coder 10C processes the area C by inputting video signals from a corresponding address to the respective areas of a video memory. Then, a decoded video signal Z is temporarily stored in a decoding video memory 11, and the respective predictive coders use the contents of the decoding memory 11 to predict. The quantizing signal Y of the output of the predictive coder is stored in a predictive error memory 12. The contents of the predictive error memory 12 is transformed to a transmission path code by the coder 5 and then transmitted to the transmission path from an output terminal 6. Thereby, a complicate processing can be executed even by using a circuit element low in speed.</p> |
