This invention relates to a decorative panel building material which has a portion bent at least 90 DEG and has a colored dry coat on its stainless steel sheet surface. The colored dry coat is a thin layer consisting substantially of 30 to 60 at.% Ti, 30 to 60 at.% Al having an N (at.%/[Ti (at.%) + Al (at.%)] ratio of from 0.6 to 1.0 and, in some cases, C having a C (at.%)/[Ti (at.%) + Al (at.%)] ratio of up to 0.25. This thin layer coat is deposited by sputtering and this coat consists of an integral mixture of carbonitrides of Ti and Al.
