<p>A nip-relieving device (3) for receiving overhanging weights on a variable-height bearing part (141) of an intermediate roller (11) of the calender is supported on the standard (6) of the calender by means of a variable-height supporting part (18). This part can be displaced by means of a worm gear spindle (48) carried on the standard (6) and rotated by a motor and drive which can be synchronized separately with the supporting part. The supporting part (18) can thereby be displaced separately to a desired position relative to the associated bearing part (141) corresponding to the height position of the latter. In a preferred embodiment, the components of the nip-relieving device (3) are arranged in a bearing sleeve surrounding the worm gear spindle (48) and the supporting part is formed with a nut (57) the height of which can be adjusted by rotating the worm gear spindle (48).</p> |
