Bursting protection ring for turbine engine housings

The invention relates to a bursting protection ring for turbine engines, which consists of a highly elastic fibre belt, which is preferably manufactured from aramid fibres, under which ceramic tiles are provided at preferred points. These ceramic tiles are provided only at points in the engine at which an expansion of the bursting protection ring is not possible because of auxiliary units or pipelines which are fitted there. In consequence, the high protection effects of aramid fibres can be advantageously combined with the slight expansion of ceramic.
