PURPOSE:To securely perform a lock holding of a front lid by displacing a lock tool main body in approximately parallel to a side wall of a case, engaging/disengaging a lock claw with/from the front lid and forming a spring body integrally with the lock tool main body via a hinge part. CONSTITUTION:When the titled tape cartridge is loaded into a deck under the state of non-use, a releasing piece 17 is pushed toward the inside of the case by an operation member on the deck side, and the lock tool main body 18 is displaced toward the inside of the case by pressing a working spring arm 31, so that an engaging piece 22 of the lock claw 16 is disengaged from an engaging part 23. Since then, the front lid 10 is turned to open the top against a spring member 14. When the front lid 10 is closed by the spring member 14, the lock claw 16 is engaged with the engaging part 23 by an elastic force of the spring body 19, so that the front lid 10 is held by locking in its original closing posture. By this method, the lock holding of the front lid 10 is firm, thus obtaining an excellently functional locking mechanism.
