PURPOSE:To expand the user data area of a main CPU and to improve its compatibility by providing an auxiliary CPU where user data is written and its main memory, reading and writing the user data through a two-port memory. CONSTITUTION:Data to be written in a file is written in the two-port memory 2c together with other pieces control information and the written data is read out by the auxiliary CPU 1a and written and stored in the main memory 1 in a semiconductor memory auxiliary storage device. Further, when the data is read out, the main CPU 1 writes control data in the two-port memory 2c to send a command to the auxiliary CPU 1a. Then the auxiliary CPU 1a reads the data in the command area in the semiconductor memory auxiliary storage device and writes it in the two-port memory 2c. The main CPU 1, on the other hand, reads the data out of the two-port memory 2c and sends it back to a user program to complete the operation. Consequently, the majority of the area in the main memory 1 is usable as a program area.
